What Is a Concentric Pier?

A concentric pier is a type of foundation support system where the axis of the pier and bracket align directly with the structural load of the building. Instead of attaching to the side of the foundation, the pier is installed directly beneath the footing or load point, allowing the weight of the structure to transfer straight down through the pier into stable soil or bedrock.

Because the load is centered over the pier, concentric systems provide stronger and more direct structural support, making them a reliable option for stabilizing settling foundations.

Concentric push pier models, including the PPB-200 and PPB-250, are engineered to penetrate deeper soil layers than many traditional pier systems. This allows them to provide dependable support even in areas with unstable or shifting soil conditions.

These piers are constructed from American-made galvanized steel and can be installed using portable equipment with minimal vibration or disruption to the surrounding structure.
